Valentine Teacher Gift @bandppaperlab #teacher valentine

When my first child went to kindergarten I had no idea of the holiday hoopla that goes on at the elementary school! The kids have a party for each holiday where parents are asked to serve a really exciting holiday themed treat that does not contain sugar. Cupcakes used to be the go-to treat before the new healthy school rules went into effect. An orange cupcake with a candy corn on top made a delightfully easy treat, but now parents are carving haunted houses out of watermelons in an effort to make the treat without sugar both themed and exciting. It’s a lot of pressure!

And then there are the teacher gifts. Let’s talk about those teacher gifts. Not only expected on holidays, but also for an entire week of teacher appreciation where you are given a vague theme and have to come up with something so clever, the entire school will take note.

I know what you are thinking- if I hate it, why do I do it? But the truth is-I actually love it with a love/hate kind of situation. I love a good craft challenge and I think up all sorts of adorable, clever, ideas each and every holiday. The crafty pressure and excitement mounts as the holiday draws nearer. Then when reality strikes the night before the holiday I make a quick run to the gas station for a king size candy bar and call it good.

But look! This year I’m ahead of the game for Valentine’s Day. It’s still a long six days away and I’m ready with cute themed and healthy teacher gifts! A box of apples, caramel dip and a cute card with a puny sentiment.

I’ve really outdone myself this time!
