It’s almost Christmas tree time! To tide me over until it is socially acceptable to put up my tree, I made a few Christmas tree cards using the Lawn Fawn Critters In The Forest. It’s not a Christmasy set, but it has the cutest little pine tree in it.

To make my background I drew a rectangle on my white card base. Actually, in all honesty, I traced a Project Life card. I then used some gold metallic watercolor paint to fill in the rectangle by randomly painting inside of the boundaries of the rectangle. I added a few patterned paper strips and the top and some gold foil chipboard stars, then went to work on the tree. I stamped the tree and colored it in with Copic Markers, then finished it off with some Stickles snow.

I’m linking this card up to the Moxie Fab World Tree-Mendous Tree Challenge. I’m hoping for extra credit since I took the picture of my tree card in a tree!

Make your own background with watercolors for your next project!
