It’s fall y’all! At least here in Boise, Idaho the weather seems to be finally committing to the change of seasons. It was 93 Saturday and 63 today!
I try to change out my mantle for each holiday or season. It’s something I love to do. I don’t spend a lot of money, I just walk through my house and find things from other places that are the right fit for whatever season I have in mind. I’ll often look for just one specific color. For fall I grabbed my Halloween pumpkin collection and other orange items I had around. Some of the pumpkins have Jack o Lantern faces on them, but I just turn them to the back so they don’t show yet.
I always love to make a handmade banner for each season. I’m so in love with the one I made this year. It’s such a good feeling to walk by it and think “wow-I made that”. It makes me so happy. I know you know that feeling! It’s ok to brag about yourself to yourself. I’m always Martha Stewart in my own head, but it doesn’t always translate well into real life!
I’ve added the SVG files and full color instructions for this banner to my Etsy shop so you can make your own. When you make it, make it your own by choosing papers that make you happy and adjusting it to fit your style. If you hate acorns but love leaves, then make 40,000 leaves and really load it down! That’s the awesome thing about SVG files and digital cutting machines. Just cut more! And don’t forget to check out the post on Making Realistic Paper Leaves as you create your banner.
