I lied in the title of this post. This is actually a 3 minute and 47 second craft. I know because I timed myself. This is possibly the easiest Halloween craft ever.
I shared on Instagram earlier this week that I went to a local farm to pick up some pumpkins for my porch. On a whim I decided to also get a hay bale. It was a tight fit in my trunk but I wiggled and shoved and got it to fit. It’s the perfect accent for my porch but wow-was my trunk a disaster. Think scarecrow murder scene. Despite intense vacuuming , I’ll likely have hay stuck to my groceries for years to come.
After I set up my porch I had an idea for the perfect finishing touch with these paper Halloween rat silhouettes.
Start the clock. I cut them out, hot glued them to skewers and stuck the skewer in the hay bale. End Clock.
The easiest decoration ever. You could also stick the skewers directly in a pumpkin or in your lawn for Halloween night. My porch is covered, so I didn’t need to worry about the rats getting rained on, but you could laminate them if you want.
Hoping you all have a happy autumn weekend! We’ve got football games and family stuff planned and my kitchen really needs a good cleaning, but I’m hoping I can squeeze a little craft time into the mix as well.
